They ambled by slowly, the father shouldering the sleeping child and the mother hauling groceries on her back. I watched from the rear view mirror of the car, my own shopping bags strewn over the passenger seat. Again, that sense came over me that I should offer them a ride home to ease the burden of walking. But it was dinnertime, of course, and my family was waiting for me, and Lord knows where they lived -- it could have been miles away -- and it wasn't my car to drive, and it wasn't exactly normal behavior. . .
But then I thought about Jesus and I know He wouldn't have just let them walk by, right?
